On August 25, 2011 at 7:49 PM, La Mesa Police received a report of a traffic collision where a child was struck by a vehicle near the intersection of Trolley Court and Fletcher Parkway.  The child was a 27 month old boy who was in the eastbound lanes of Fletcher Parkway when he was struck.  The child was transported to Children’s Hospital with head injuries that did not appear to be life threatening. The vehicle that struck the child left the scene.  That vehicle was described as a white minivan or sport utility vehicle with a luggage rack on top. The vehicle may possibly be a Volkswagen.
