Carl’s Jr. Restaurant Robbed at Gunpoint; 2 Suspects Arrested PDF Print E-mail
On November 13, 2011, at approximately 8:40 pm, La Mesa Police received a 9-1-1 call of a robbery that had just occurred at the Carl’s Jr. restaurant located at 8110 Parkway Drive, La Mesa.  An employee said that two black male adults had just robbed the business at gunpoint, ordering the employees to the ground.  The two suspects took an undisclosed amount of money and fled from the business on foot.  The victim was able to give descriptions of both suspects.

 

At approximately 9:01 pm, an officer who was monitoring a nearby intersection, observed a vehicle pass by him with two subjects inside who matched the descriptions of the suspects from the Carl’s Jr.  The officer followed the vehicle as it got onto I-8 W/B.  The officer initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle.  The vehicle slowed but did not initially stop.  The vehicle got off the freeway, turned onto Adobe Falls Road where it stopped. As the vehicle came to a stop, the officer saw one of the passengers throw a handgun from the vehicle.  Both subjects were identified by one of the witnesses from the restaurant robbery.  Both suspects were arrested without further incident. There were no injuries.


The suspects were identified as:

 

Antonio Terrell ARNOLD, 31 years old

Mario Deangelo TOWNSEND, 30 years old

 

Both suspects were booked into San Diego County Jail for 211 PC Robbery.
