SAN DIEGO - A 12-year-old boy was allegedly grabbed Thursday by a disheveled-looking man in Rolando Park area, officials said.

The bearded man seemed intoxicated when his failed attempt to pull the boy from a roadside into a van, authorities reported.

The youngster was walking home in the 3800 block of Demus Street shortly before 3:30 p.m. when the would-be kidnapper pulled up alongside in a faded, rusty blue van and told him to get inside, according to San Diego police.
